My two daughters recently left the nest, and the thing I miss most isn’t what you’d expect. It’s the little things. Their personalities, the way they’d walk into a room, the voices I used to hear at breakfast.
What I wish I had more of, and what almost every empty-nest mom I know wishes she had more of, are photographs. The kind that hang in the hallway. The kind you pass a hundred times a week and still feel something every single time.
That’s the work I create now. Thoughtfully styled, beautifully lit portraits that are printed, framed, and actually enjoyed, not tucked away in a folder somewhere.
